Asset Downloads

At the time an asset is downloaded, information is recorded to fuel the asset download dashboard. The download is recorded against the system server time/date. We track the information about the asset at the point it was downloaded including:

  • Asset name
  • Asset keywords
  • Asset ID
  • Brand
  • Asset type (e.g. video, image) of the original/master file
  • Asset file extension
  • Variant of the asset downloaded (e.g. original/master, preview or additional file)
  • Asset security level
  • User role of the user who downloaded it

Downloads are currently tracked from the asset grid view, the asset details modal, and the asset details page.

Trending Searches

As part of our strategy to become intelligent and proactive in the user experience on the BrandHub, using artificial intelligence to power our Recommendation Engine, we provide suggestions and insight into user behaviour with the primary goal of helping users find the right assets, faster! To power the recommendations, we capture crucial data points throughout the BrandHub — part of which are taken during the search process.

To empower admin users to ensure they can better serve their users, we report on two primary areas:

  1. The most popular search terms used across the BrandHub, which resulted in a successful search (the user was presented with at least one asset type for their search query).
  2. The most popular search terms that resulted in an unsuccessful search (no assets were returned for the users' given search query).

Dashboard

image

The following trending search reports are available:

The dashboard allows 'at-a-glance' comprehension of key data. Any additional data can be exported (see below, Exporting data).

  1. Top 10 searches yielding no results - a rolling 30 day view
    • Limited to top 10 results (inclusive) and cannot be filtered via date controls
    • These results are global and not split via sub-brand
  2. Top 10 searches (yielding a result) - a rolling 30 day view
    • Limited to top 10 results (inclusive) and cannot be filtered via date controls
    • These results are global and not split via sub-brand
📢
There are scenarios when you could have a search query in both graphs. Example 1 — if between day 1 and day 15 users were searching the term 'water' and this returned no results, an admin user might decided to upload assets relating to the term 'water'. If this term was then searched sufficiently between day 16 and day 30, it would appear in the graph of popular terms that DID return a result. Example 2 — Sub-brand 1 contains no assets that relate to the search term 'water'. However, sub-brand 2 does have assets relating to the search term 'water'. The report would record the search term 'water' in both graphs as it both did and didn't return results.

Export Trending Searches data

The exported data is downloaded within an archive file (e.g. .zip) containing two separate reports (both csv file types).

  1. WithResults.csv
  2. NoResults.csv

The trending searches dataset uses the same schema as the dasboard, so is identical, but formatted as a table with headings:

  1. SearchTerm
  2. SearchFrequency

Managing reports

Viewing reports

Reports can be viewed in full screen using the icon in the top right when hovering over a graph.

Full screen mode can be exited using the icon that appears in the full screen view.

Filtering reports

Reports can be filtered by date and keywords at the top of the page. The user can click ‘Apply’ to apply the filters and refresh the results.

Date range

The user can enter a from and to date to filter downloads that happened during a certain period. Note, the download date/time is recorded as the system server date and time (not local to the user who downloaded it).

The Brand Hub cannot retrospectively record downloads or actions. Therefore, the Reporting Cube will only be able to display recorded data from the point at which it (or the specific dashboard) was implemented.

The default date range opened upon launch of the reporting cube will be

  • From: current day-30 days
  • To: the current date

Keywords

Keywords can be used to filter reports using the type ahead keyword box. A combination of keywords can be added in an 'or' search. Keywords only apply if they were present on the asset at the point that it was downloaded.

Interactive filtering - charts

image

Many of the reports are interactive. Clicking on an element in one chart will update the rest of the dashboard to filter by that selection. For example, clicking on ‘Create your own’ in the asset extension pie chart will update all other charts to only show results for 'Create your own' assets. This can be used to filter the reports in many ways, to show just the results you want.

To apply more than one filter, click the ‘Filter mode’ option after the first filter has been selected. This will allow you to filter based on multiple chart options by clicking on them.

To remove all filters from a chart on the dashboard, hover over the chart and click the remove filter option.

Sorting & filtering - tables

Each column of a table can be sorted/filtered by clicking on the header of a column.

image

Custom filters can be added allowing the user to combine multiple filters. These can be re-ordered by clicking on the ‘filter’ and then using the up/down arrows.

Downloading data

To export the full dashboard data, the user can click on the 'Export' button which can be found in the top right hand corner of the report. Data is downloaded to your local machine in .csv format.
